Charles Richard Boston Obituary
Charles Richard Boston, 81, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Genesis United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions for Genesis United Methodist Church in his memory is suggested. Charlie was born July 24, 1932, in Fort Worth to Travis and Veda Boston. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth in 1950, then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving until 1954. He was a forward observer on the front lines of the Korean War. He went to work for the FAA until he retired in 1975. Charlie was self-employed until 1977, when he began working for the Southern Baptist Radio and TV Commission, retiring again in 1996. Charlie and his wife spent the past 45 years volunteering with Little League Baseball. They have been lifelong residents of Fort Worth. He was a caring and generous man who always enjoyed visiting and talking with people. He deeply loved all his family and friends and will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Veda Boston; and brother, Travis Jr. Survivors: Loving wife of 55 years, Bette; children, Vint and Susan Boston, Mindy and John Hausner, and Damon Boston, all of Fort Worth; brothers, Don and Marylee Boston of Fort Worth and Jack and Terry Boston of Dalhart; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Sydney, Johnny, Katelyn, Dalton, Mark and Cassidy; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Caydence, Bralyn, Jax and Bella.
