Frances Gordon Appleman Obituary
Frances Gordon Appleman passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in Washington, D.C. Funeral: will be private. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hadassah University Medical Center, P.O. Box 12000, Jerusalem 91120, Israel; Beth-El Congregation, Fort Worth; Temple Emanu-El Dallas, Texas; or a . Frances was born in Calvert, Texas, and graduated from Pauls Valley High School in Pauls Valley, Okla. After a year at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, she transferred to the University of Oklahoma where she earned her bachelor of science degree in nutrition. There she met her husband, Frank B. Appleman, to whom she was totally devoted throughout their 60-year marriage. They married in 1935, and after time in Oklahoma City and Silver Spring, Md., they moved to Dallas and then to Fort Worth in 1945. Frances enjoyed traveling, cooking and collecting antiques. Her husband, Frank, predeceased her. Survivors: Her daughter, Kaye Appleman and husband, Dr. Edward Mopsik; her son, Gordon Appleman and his wife, Louise Appleman; her grandson, Michael Appleman and his wife, Jen Appleman; her granddaughter, Anne A. Mann and her husband, David R. Mann; and her three great-grandchildren, Travis E. Mann, Elizabeth L. Mann and Andrew D. Mann.
