Gary William Fox, 70, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, after a brief illness. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. Memorials: Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Kidney Cancer Association. Gary was born Sept. 25, 1943, in Huron, S.D., to the late Harold L. and Mary Hines Fox. Gary, a book man and co-owner of Texas Star Books, also spent many years in computer and software sales. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, where he was a member of Sigma Beta Chi fraternity. Gary was a lifelong student of Texas, American and military history, and traveled extensively to historic destinations. He was a loving husband, proud father, stepfather and grandfather. Survivors: His wife, Sue Pittman Fox; sons, Chris, Jonathan and Justin Fox; stepsons, Stephen Bright, Eric Bright and wife, Rhonda, and Jay Harrell and wife, Heidi; grandchildren, Max, Alex, Grant and Eden Harrell, and Avery and Vivian Bright; siblings and their spouses, Linda and Richard Klingbeil, Patricia and Kevin Dwyer, Brian and Debra Fox, and Rebecca and David Schultz; and many nieces and nephews.
