George Edwin Dyer Obituary
George Edwin Dyer, 68, of Arlington passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Arlington, followed by visitation. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Arlington or Texas Stroke Institute. George was born in Wichita Falls on Feb. 17, 1946. He moved in 1951 to Clyde, where he graduated from Clyde High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Craig Dyer. They moved to Arlington in 1971 with their son, Craig Dyer. George graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1981 with an accounting degree. George had been the small business owner of Anson Industries in Arlington since 1996. George was always a man of quick wit and humor. He made everyone around him laugh. George was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. George will be missed by everyone who knew him. Survivors: Wife of 49 years, Linda Dyer; son, Craig Dyer and wife, Lisa; granddaughter, Christina Seckinger and husband, Graham; great-granddaughter, Grace Seckinger; sister, Becky Copeland and husband, Mike; brother, Jerry Dyer and wife, Jeanette; sister-in-law, Joyce Dyer; brother-in-law, Eddie Craig and wife, Pam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
