George F. Coughlin Obituary
George F. Coughlin, 90, of Fort Worth passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Following the service there will be a celebration of life at the home of his daughter, Cindy Shingleton of Fort Worth. George was born May 7, 1923, in Brockton, Mass., to Richard and Louise Coughlin. It was during the onset of World War II where he met his soon-to-be wife of 65 years, Anna Herge, while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. George enjoyed two retirements, U.S. Steel in Ellwood City, Pa., and Beaver County Medical Center in Beaver County, Pa. Following retirement, he and his wife Anna moved to Frisco, Colo., where they enjoyed their home located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado for over 20 years. Due to health conditions Anna and George relocated to Fort Worth to be near their daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Coughlin. Survivors: Daughter, Cynthia Shingleton (Dennis), also of Fort Worth; son, R. Richard Coughlin (Yayoi Kambara) of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter, Rebecca Coughlin (Lauren Fraser) of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Blazin of Melbourne, Fla.; and his many friends and caring staff at both Broadway Plaza at Cityview and Autumn Leaves of Cityview.
