George William Hayden Obituary
George William Hayden Sr. of Colleyville passed from this life into heaven Sunday, April 13, 2014. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at First United Methodist Church, Colleyville. Memorials: Gifts in George's memory can be made to First United Methodist Church, Colleyville. George was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Perry, Okla., son of Luther and Alice Hayden. George's family settled in Atlanta, Texas, where he graduated from high school at the age of 17 in 1943. George was a member of "the Greatest Generation," serving in the Navy during World War II. George returned home after the war and met the love of his life, Bobbye Sue Crow. They were married in November 1948, and were married 65-plus years until Bobbye Sue's death in February 2014. George and Bobbye Sue attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. George earned a bachelor of science degree in geology and the first years of his work career was as a land man for an oil and gas company. George and his family moved to Dallas in 1966. George switched careers where he became a real estate broker and salesman. George modeled to his family traits of being a hard worker and great provider. George had been a longtime Methodist and asked Jesus to be his Savior early in life; thus the family is assured of his resting in the arms of his Heavenly Father. George's membership currently resided at First United Methodist Church of Colleyville. There was never anything more important to him than his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George loved to keep up with what sports and activities they were involved in and many times would attend those activities no matter where they were. Survivors: His children, Debra Barnes and husband, Bill, Bill Hayden and wife, Cheryl, and Leigh Anne Taylor. Pa Pa is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, soon to be nine, who will miss him dearly.
