Haynes Harbaugh Obituary
Haynes Harbaugh, 70, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at home. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, 4517 Rufe Snow Drive, North Richland Hills. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North East Emergency Distribution, P.O. Box 1376, Hurst, Texas 76053, or St. Paul Presbyterian Church. Haynes was born in Murphysboro, Ill., on May 31, 1943, to Reverend Ernest and Lois Harbaugh. He grew up in Taylorville, Ill., and graduated from the University of Dubuque. Upon graduation, Haynes started his 40-year career with the Boy Scouts of America in Dubuque, Iowa, and held positions in Omaha, Neb., Portland, Maine, Munster, Ind., and finally retired in 2005 as director of Properties with the Boy Scouts of America National Office in Irving. He served as elder in the church, was a Rotarian and a member of the Police Department's Code Blue Program. Haynes valued his family and his church. He loved his precious grandsons and was privileged to be involved in their lives. He was a man of faith and was loved and respected by many. His generosity, loving heart, sweet smile and countenance will be forever remembered. Haynes was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Devoted wife, Pam of Fort Worth; daughter, Heidi Newell and husband, Scott, of Fort Worth; daughter, Hillary Cahee and husband, Anthony, of Watauga; grandsons, Trevor, Travis and Devin; sister, Becky Wright of Taylorville, Ill.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Ron Howarth of Grimes, Iowa; nieces; and nephews.
