Herbert Adolph William Witt Obituary
Herbert Adolph William Witt, 81, took his last flight home on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013. He is survived by his wife and co-pilot of 59 years, Betty Wolander Witt, whom he married on April 19, 1954. Memorial service: was Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church Sanctuary in Hurst where he and Betty were members. Herb was born to Herbert A. and Elsie Witt on Aug. 4, 1931, in LaGrange and graduated from the University of Texas after his discharge from the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Texas Electric, Bell Helicopter, Fort Worth National Bank, and Mid-Continent before retiring from Harris Hospital as director of data processing. Herb was a licensed pilot and enjoyed watching Rangers, Cowboys, Mavericks and Longhorns games. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Harvey Witt; his son-in-law, Richard Darden; and sister-in-law, Nancy Wolander. Survivors: Grandpa is survived by his wife, Betty; three kids, Denise Darden of Wichita Falls, Nanette Witt of Morrilton, Ark., and Russell Witt of North Richland Hills; five grandkids, Randle and his wife, Kimberly Cochran, of North Richland Hills, Keith, Kevin and Jaime "Apple" Darden of Wichita Falls and Bryce Clayton; great-grandkids, Nicole, Jonathan, Katie and Kendall Cochran of North Richland Hills.
