J.P. "Pop" Binion, 90, of Weatherford died Wednesday evening, Jan. 23, 2013, at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at South Main Church of Christ. Interment: Spring Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: May be sent to South Main Church of Christ or the Parker County Sheriff's Posse. J.P. was born July 12, 1922, in Pritchett and had resided in Weatherford for many years. Mr. Binion was a retired electrician from Carswell Air Force Base and owned Binion Electric. He was a member of South Main Church of Christ, Stockyards Masonic Lodge #1244, a longtime member of the Parker County Sheriff's Posse and a farmer in the hay business. He was a Navy veteran and served on the USS Nassau and USS Saratoga. J.P. was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Iva Lee Binion; daughter, Diane Binion Kemp; brother, Linden Binion; sister, Oleene Sewell; and son-in-law, Tommy Osborn. Survivors: Wife, Nell Binion of Weatherford; daughters, Barbara Binion Osborn of Weatherford and Janis Binion Dove and husband, Bobby, of Seminole; son, Mark Binion and wife, Myrna, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Lisa Osborn, Aaron Osborn, Kaleb Kemp and wife, Staci, Zane Kemp and wife, Kelly, Sadie Ratliff, Trey Dove and wife, Katie, Keely Gilbert and husband, Brent, Bailey Binion; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Kara Kemp, Kannon, Kinley and Kyler Kemp, Trip Ratliff, Tucker Dove, Brenley and Keegan Gilbert.
