James T. "JT" Brown Obituary
James T. "JT" Brown of Arlington went to be with our Lord Jesus on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Monday at Fielder Road Baptist Church. Interment: 2 p.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery for family only. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Arlington Chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Juvenile Diabetes, www.JDRF.org. JT was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Marshall to Addie Pearl and James T. Brown. JT served as the patriarch of his family where he was best known for his great integrity, honor, generosity and commitment. His love for the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in all walks of his life. JT was a loving husband, father and "PaPa" to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. JT proudly served our country in World War II as a medic in the 2nd Infantry Division "Indianhead" at the invasion of Europe where he received military honors, including three Purple Hearts. In 1949 JT helped start Fort Worth Bolt and Tool. Then in 1955 JT opened Central Industrial Supply Company and Royal Manufacturing in 1968. With his leadership for over 50 years, CIS grew into a successful international business. JT and Johnnie Ruth were charter members since 1957, of Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, where they served the Lord and were actively involved for many years. JT was a Mason for over 49 years and was a 32nd degree Mason. JT was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Brown. Survivors: His wife of 67 years, Johnnie Ruth; sister, Thelma Stockdale; sons, Jimmy Brown and wife, Karen, Joseph Brown and wife, Judy; daughter, Janet Burks and husband, Dan; granddaughters, Kimberly Allen, Kristin Miller, Whitney Brown, Autumn Blesi, April Hince, Tiffany Geeo and Aundria Blackstone; grandsons, Stephen Burks, Chad Brown, Clint Calvert and William Calvert; 26 great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family, friends and loved ones. Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
