Jeannine Van Noy Obituary
Jeannine Crill Van Noy went to join her Lord and Savior, her parents, Jeanette and Harry Merritt, her brother, Gerard Merritt, and her Bebe on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. Celebration of life: 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Philip Presbyterian Church. Memorials: St. Phillip Presbyterian Church or the . Jeannine was born in San Antonio on Nov. 18, 1930, and was raised mainly in Fort Worth and Dallas. She and her husband, Raymond, were married 25 years and lived in Watauga, Hurst, Fort Worth and North Richland Hills. She was active in her church, St. Phillip Presbyterian Church in Hurst, serving as a Stephen Ministry leader for years and active in other community organizations, including Pathfinders and Tarrant Area Community of Churches. Jeannine graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, received her BA from Texas Wesleyan in 1964 and her master's from University of Texas at Arlington and also did some postgraduate work at North Texas State University and Texas Woman's University. She loved teaching and taught English for 30 years, starting at Sam Houston High School in Arlington, then Bowie High School in Arlington, where she was the head of the English Department. In 1981, Jeannine began teaching at Tarrant County Junior College South Campus (now TCC), where she taught classes and was head of ITV English for several years. She moved to Northeast Campus in 1988 where she helped write curriculum for the first freshman computer English classes. Jeannine retired from TCC's Northeast Campus in the summer of 1993. After retirement, she enjoyed being with family, traveling, volunteering and working with her dogs. Jeannine touched many lives during and after her career in teaching, and she was a favorite of her students wherever she taught. She was always there for anyone in need with open arms, and and open mind to match. Jeannine was loved much by her students, her friends and her family, and will be greatly missed. Survivors: Husband Raymond M. Van Noy; sons, Robert L. Crill of Grapevine and Randall D. Crill (Connie) of Hudson, Ill.; stepdaughters, Linda Gregg (David) of Palestine and Shirley Pannell of Fort Worth; stepsons, Jerry Van Noy (Anita) of Newark and Darrell Van Noy (Toni) of North Richland Hills; grandsons, Matthew L. Crill of Honolulu, Hawaii, Timothy M. Crill of Arlington, Adam S. Crill Arlington and Danny Van Noy of North Richland Hills; granddaughters, Meredith J. Hall (Corey) of Bloomington, Ill., Chelsea M. Schwartz (Ryan) of Peoria, Ariz., Tamara Pannell of Terrell, Rachelle Fletcher (Bill) of Haslet, Rachel Johnson (Bryan) of Palestine and Ralana Brannan (Duncan) of North Richland Hills; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Crill, Michael Jarrett and Corgan Hall.
