Jimmy Lynam Obituary
Jimmy Lynam, 80, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist, Saginaw. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood. Jimmy was born Aug. 17, 1933, to Lee and May Lynam, and grew up in Bishop. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Hahn, Germany, for 2 1/2 years, where he was an F-86 crew chief. After active duty, Jimmy joined the Air Force Reserve unit, where he crewed C-119s in San Antonio, then moved to Fort Worth, where he was a flight engineer on C-124s at Carswell Air Force Base, and flew all over the world. He then became a quality assurance inspector for the federal government, first at Bell Helicopter, then Lockheed in Fort Worth. He retired in 1993, with the rank of chief master sergeant and was the senior enlisted advisor for the 301st Fighter Bomber Squadron. Jimmy was an accomplished private pilot with an instructor rating. He was a reserve officer for the Saginaw Police Department, where he became chief of the Reserve Unit, and then was a reserve officer for the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. After retiring from Lockheed, he became a bailiff at the Tarrant County Courthouse, and served there for nine years. Jimmy loved the Lord, his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Lee and May Lynam; brother, Marshall; great-granddaughter, Charlotte; and beloved son-in-law, Frank Howell. Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Marie; daughter, Penny Reeves (Aaron); son, Jimmy W. (Janet); grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark), Jason (Kristina), Stephanie (Jay), Mark, Sarah (Jeff), and Autumn (Sam); great-grandchildren, Kasey, Lacey, Allyson, Ryan, Ethan, Sam "Moose," Elyssa and Olivia; sister, Gwen (Richard); and numerous family and friends.
