John M. Tushim Obituary
John M. Tushim, 84, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 6150 Pershing Ave., Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic School. John was born Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1928, in Altoona, Pa., and grew up in Punxsutawney, Pa. He received a B.S. degree from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, he joined Chance Vought Aircraft in 1954. The company name had changed to LTV Aerospace and Defense Co. when he retired in 1990. He was proud to have been an employee of the company. He enjoyed reminiscing about his time in the Air Force and his experiences and friends at LTV. Those he met while accompanying former Star-Telegram columnist Jon McConal on interviews provided many memories and even more stories. John was well loved. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Survivors: Wife, Sharon Tushim; sons, John M. Tushim Jr. and Luke Tushim and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Kimberly, Samuel, Makayla and Christopher Tushim; stepchildren, Mark Hartman, Kathy Hartman, Karen Barse and husband, Bill, and Kristie Hartman and husband, David Lamb; and stepgrandchildren, Hannah Hartman, Benjamin and Joshua Lamb.
