John Michael "Mikey" Lerma, 29, entered into eternal life Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Teaching Word Faith Center, 7712 South Freeway, Fort Worth. Officiating pastors will be Joe and Mary Jessie Barrera. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jesse Paul Reyna, Robert Montelongo, Andy Enrriquez, Jr., Michael Hinguanzo, David Lopez, Jesus Acosta, J.D. Salas and James Beck. Honorary pallbearers: Robbie Cisneros and Robert Mendez. Memorials: May be made to the Mike Lerma Memorial Fund at Omni American Bank. Mikey was born Feb. 19, 1983, in Fort Worth to John and Susan Lerma. Mikey loved his family above everything else, especially all the children. He had a zest for life and never lost his youth. His smile could light up a room. Besides working out, his favorite pastime was hanging out with his cousins, Robbie, Christina, Jessica, Hopie, Andy, Vanessa, Jaime and Jenna. He was a gifted musician with an anointed voice. Mike served in the Marine Corps from 2007-2012. He served two tours, first in Iraq and then in Afghanistan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan G. Lerma. Survivors: Father, John F. Lerma Jr.; sister, Monica Reyna and husband, Jesse; nephew, Jesse Paul Reyna; niece, Alyssa Marie "baby girl" Reyna; grandmother, Laura Ann Gomez; special aunt "Grandma" Mary Gomez; godparents, Joe and Mary Lerma; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
