John Terrence Bober Obituary
John Terrence Bober, a retired lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. Service: Noon Thursday, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Interment: 2 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: His memory may be honored with a gift to Tarrant County Food Bank, 2600 Cullen St., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; Humane Society of North Texas, 1840 E. Lancaster St., Fort Worth, Texas 76103; or Project Hope, 255 Carter Hall Ln., Millwood, Va. 22646. John Terrence was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Caldwell, Ohio, son of the late Anna Barbara Kantor Bober and John Bober. He was a member of Retired Officers' Association, Military Officers Association of America, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Fleet Reserve Association. As a member of Bishop Dunne Council 2813, he was past Faithful Navigator of General Worth Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; brothers, Joseph, David, Andrew and Edward; and sisters, Lottie, Mary, Janet and Hariett. Survivors: His children, Linda K. Elliot, Monica M. Bober, John T. Bober Jr., Marti Doan and her husband, Kendall; grandchildren, Charlin Jones, Rebecca Doan, Bethany Doan; nieces; and nephews.
