Kay Murphy Fuller Obituary
Kay Murphy Fuller, 86, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church, 4200 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth. Visitation: Will be held for friends and family 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the home of Dexter and Deborah Jung, 2340 Mistletoe Blvd., Fort Worth. Memorials: May be made to the Kids Who Care Hope Scholarship Fund, 1300 Gendy, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, in lieu of flowers. Kay was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Shreveport, La., to Michael and Hope Murphy. Growing up in Dallas, she graduated from Highland Park High School in 1945 and from Hockaday Junior College in 1947. Kay went on to attend the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in English in 1949. Married to Troy Fuller in 1950, they raised their four daughters in Midland and Euless. Kay returned to Dallas in 1988 and served as the receptionist for Royal Oaks Country Club for 20 years. In 2008, she moved to Fort Worth and worked at Rivercrest Country Club for four years. Lovingly known to many as "Muzzie," she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Murphy; and a daughter, Jannice Fikar. Survivors: Sister, Patricia Godbold; daughters, Deborah Jung and husband, Dexter, Michele Pappas and husband, Art, and Patrice Wilton; son-in-law, Dean Fikar; grandchildren, Chad, Blake, Alexandra, Christina, Jessica, Madeline, Hope and Nathan; and great-grandchildren, Kate, James, Riley, Carter and Wyatt.
