Phyllis Henry Ellison Obituary
Phyllis Henry Ellison, 77, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the . Phyllis was born Sept. 2, 1936, in Fort Worth and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Paschal High School in 1955 and the University of Texas at Austin in 1961 and remained an avid Longhorn fan. Phyllis was a teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District and retired in 2000. Her passion for children, especially her grandchildren, continued beyond retirement. The family gives special thanks to Tatanischka Henderson, Harris Methodist Medical ICU nurses and Healthcare Resources for all their care and compassion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Ellison; mother, Frances Rodieck Henry; father, John Wesley Henry; and mother-in-law, Marge Ellison. Survivors: Children, Frank Ellison and wife, Karen, Gary Ellison and wife, Michele, Mark Ellison and Phyllis Ann Ellison; grandchildren, Erin Ellison, Reagan Ellison, Evan Ellison and Kyla Johnson; brother, Johnnie F. Henry and wife, Linda; brother-in-law, Don Ellison and wife, Kaye; nephew, David Henry and wife, Pam; and nieces, Diane Moore and husband, Russ, Sharon Nelms and husband, James.
