Richard Anton Jensen passed away peacefully Thursday, July 31, 2014. Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3314 Dryden in Fort Worth. Interment: Private in Amarillo. Memorials: Memorials if desired to the . Born on March 6, 1931, in Queens, N.Y., Dick spent his childhood and teen years there and on Long Island, working from a young age for a deli, a theater, and Nabisco. During the Korean War, he joined the Navy and served as a radioman on the USS Keppler from 1951-1954. At the University of Colorado, Boulder, he met his wife of 57 years, Pat. He worked for Western Union in White Plains, then as a salesman in Houston and Wichita, and later as sales manager in Dallas, returning to Houston with TRT Telecommunications until his retirement. Family and God were most important to Dick. He loved his children, Tricia, Richard and David; grandchildren, Mary, Christopher, Elizabeth, Meg, Sarah, Katherine, Anne, Maggie and Emma; and daughters-in-law, Tammy and Sandra. He will be missed for his cheerful and upbeat disposition, generosity, love of talking with people, love of children, and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures.
