Richard H. Sweaney Jr. Obituary
Richard H. Sweaney Jr., 93, loving father and grandfather, was called home by his heavenly Father on Monday, April 14, 2014. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood. Richard H. Sweaney Jr. was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Arlington. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1938 and attended Texas Wesleyan College. Richard honorably served in the Army during World War II. He worked in management for Dickies for 37 years. Richard was a Christian man who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Francine Sweaney; his parents, Richard and Eva Fuller Sweaney; grandson, Jonathan David Sweaney; sister, Oneida Sweaney; and brother, Bill Sweaney Survivors: Sons, Richard H. Sweaney III and wife, Donna, of Purmela, Gary W. Sweaney and wife, Jenny, of Cypress; daughter, Kay Sorvillo and husband, Christian, of San Antonio; grandchildren, Richard Sweaney IV and wife, Heather, Adam Sweaney and wife, Adrienne, Sarah Yanowski and husband, Matt, Stacey Riffe and husband, Derek, Seth Sweaney, Jeffrey Sorvillo and wife, Ashley, Matthew Sorvillo and Emily Sorvillo; and great-grandchildren, Harrison and Hadley Sweaney, Alivia Sweaney, Jhett and Lakyn Yanowski, Carson Riffe and Nathan Sorvillo.
