Ruth E. Clarkson Obituary
Ruth Elizabeth Clarkson passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the age of 96. Service: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, 76012. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mission Arlington or a . Ruth was born Dec. 18, 1917, to Olaf Otto and Christina Carlson. She was raised in Strandquist, Minn., and graduated from Stephen High School in Stephen, Minn., in 1936. She graduated from Andrews Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She served in the Army 167th General Hospital Unit from January 1943 to February 1946 as a first lieutenant, Army Nurse Corps, and served in France during World War II where she met her husband and life mate of 54 years, Wilbur H. Clarkson Sr. Ruth worked 25 years as a registered nurse at the University of Texas at Arlington Health Center. She loved the Lord Jesus and is a member of First Baptist Church, Arlington, where she served on the bereavement committee and volunteered at Mission Arlington for many years. She loved working in her flower beds and yard. She was an artist and loved to paint. She loved coffee and had a sweet tooth that was insatiable (probably the reason she was so sweet). She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her 12 siblings. Survivors: She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Herb Clarkson (Sherry), Tamara Boozer(Dwayne), Meryl Clarkson (Mary); her grandchildren, Tiffany, Jennifer, Jeff, Cory, Eric and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Zach, Brandon, Dylan, Trent, Malorie, baby to be born any day, Spencer, Aidan and Caleb; and the wonderful healthcare workers at Sophya's Assisted Living in Mesquite, Sophya, Marcy, Julie, Haydee and Alma.
