Service: 3 p.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 2 p.m. Friday. Tom was a charismatic and endearing personality who befriended, mentored and served all those with whom he came in contact. In addition, they relished time exercising, caring for their dogs and helping those in need around them. Tom was an enormous influence on friends and family members and will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Tom was a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA in systems analysis and design. He also received an MBA from The University of Dallas and a master's in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Tom served his local community as an elected district court clerk for Tarrant County and later served his country as a White House appointed chief information officer for the Social Security Administration in Washington, D.C., under President George W. Bush. In addition, Tom also worked for a broad range of Fortune 500 companies. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Hughes; and sister, Jeanne Hughes.
