Weldon Roy Aston Obituary
Weldon Roy Aston, 81, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013, peacefully at home. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Terrace Auditorium. Interment: Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Tolar following the service. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Weldon was born on June 9, 1932, in Fort Worth, to Ernest and Mural Aston. He attended Paschal High School and the University of Texas at Austin. Weldon had his own CPA firm in Fort Worth which he sold and semi retired in 1992. He was grateful for all the clients that he had over the years and the friendships that he acquired from them. His son Jeff worked with him for most of the second half of his career. He was married to Nona Ann Amundson for 20 years which he had two children with. He married Cathryn June Roe in 1984. He was past president and current member of the Fort Worth Petroleum Club as well as a member of Ridglea Country Club, Fort Worth Club and Wildcatters. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, dining out with friends and family and the Texas Rangers. It was a huge thrill for him to be at the Texas Rangers game where they beat the Yankees to win the AL Championship in 2010. He loved being around other people and was grateful for all of his friends now and over the years. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Verlon Ray and B.W. Survivors: Wife of 29 years, Cathryn June; daughter, Sharon Aston; son, Jeff Aston; son, Steve Aston; nephew, Junior Aston and wife, Marsha, and their son, Trey; cousins, Milton Aston and son, Mark and his wife, Karen, and Harry Aston; as well as two sisters-in-law, Lillie Aston and Faye Aston. In addition he had stepchildren, Mark King and wife, Rachel, Cathi Warren and husband, John, Steve King and wife, Linda, and David King; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
