William Melvin Baker Obituary
William Melvin Baker, 81, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 20, 2014. Funeral: A service to remember Bill will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at DFW National Cemetery, with the Rev. Jaron Barrington. Born in Nash County, N.C., on Nov. 16, 1932, he was the son of the late William Neet and Nellie Jordan Baker. He served his country for 17 years in the United States Air Force, from which he retired, having also served four years prior with the United States Navy. He worked for Mil-Craft Manufacturing of Arlington for 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always there and willing to help others any way he could. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Baker and wife, Lory, Wilbur Baker and wife, Marie, John Ivan Baker and wife, Ann; sisters, Eula Baker Bellis and husband, Kenneth, Linda Baker Harts and husband, William, and Grace Baker Sykes. Survivors: He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Edith Nelms Baker; daughter, Regina Baker Rooker and husband, Rod; son, Brian Keith Baker and wife, Tressa; grandsons, Timothy Rooker and wife, Judith, Benjamin, Caleb and Isaac Rooker; and great-grandchildren, Brianna, Jason and Emmalynne Rooker.
