Jake Paslay Jr. "Jay," 91, of Burleson, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Jay was the third son of seven children born to Jake Paslay Sr. of Oklahoma and Ida Elizabeth McCurry of Arkansas on Dec. 25, 1925, in Fort Worth. Two surviving siblings are Jack Paslay and Elizabeth Malicoat. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. Son of a carpenter; Jay was a lifelong home builder and land developer. He constructed several churches. Jay was involved in communities as a Mason, Sunday school teacher for Reese Prairie Baptist Church and actively participated in evangelical campaigns. At the time of his passing, he was a 67-year Mason with the Southside Lodge #1114, Fort Worth. Survivors: Wife, Wanda Jean (Bragg) Paslay of 49 years; children, Hollis Hutchison, Jake (Jacob) Paslay III, Clayton Paslay, Timothy Paslay, Debbie Cogburn, Crystal Paslay, Amber Margelis, and Daniel Paslay; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
