Bro.  Jack Leslie Obituary
AUBURN – Andrew Jackson ""Bro. Jack"" Leslie, 78, went to be with Jesus at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Bro. Jack was born on July 12, 1936, in Carthage, Leake County, to the late Hubert and Lovie Christine Gibbons Leslie. He graduated from Ministry School in Laurel and spent his lifetime preaching in Baptist Missionary Association Churches all over Mississippi. He spread the Gospel for more than 50 years in churches in Tupelo, Oxford, Yazoo City. Laurel, Mooreville, Newton, Jackson and other places. His last two local pastorates were South Green Baptist Church in Tupelo and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Mooreville. Additionally, he and his family lived in France for five years where he served as a missionary. He was a patriotic American and served his state in the Mississippi National Guard and his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bro. Jack loved reading and studying the Bible, his prayer time and helping all those in spiritual need throughout his years of ministry. He loved working on the computer and good food and fellowship with his family and many friends. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church at his death.
A graveside service celebrating his life and ministry will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at the Auburn Cemetery adjacent to the Auburn Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Dale Franks officiating. A military salute will follow the service. Friends may greet the family after the graveside service. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel, is entrusted with all arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Patricia ""Patti"" Livingston of the Auburn community and Steve Leslie (Debbie) of Plant City, Fla.; five grandchildren: Tabitha Galindo (Mark), Jeremy Leslie (Jenny), Wendy Randolph (Lance), John Terry (Kimberly) and Michael Terry; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Price (Joe) of Gulfport; and a host of friends, other relatives, his ministerial colleagues and church families all over Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Lovie Leslie; his wife, Claudette Carol Mouring Leslie, on Jan. 30, 2013; a daughter, Cynthia Leslie Parker, who died Nov. 18, 2000 (Ken, deceased); and a brother, Roy Leslie.
