James K. Barrett

James K. Barrett, age 88, passed away June 16, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Nashville.

He was a self employed painter, worked at the Princess Theater and a member of Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy. James was a decorated veteran in the United States Navy, serving in World War II in the Pacific Ocean.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Virginia Bessie Bowling Barrett; brother, John Barrett and sister, Alberta Eunice Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie L. Hill Barrett; son, Jimmy S. (Donna) Barrett of Murfreesboro; brothers, Glen London (Jane) Barrett and Fletcher (Peggy) Barrett; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunt and great uncle.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. until time of Chapel service at 1 p.m., at Jennings and Ayers. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with Marion Caruthers and E.C. McKinley officiating. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
