Annette Wright Moss, 80, of 2013 Shady Drive, Elizabeth City, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Born in Elizabeth City, she was the daughter of the late Willis Squire Wright Sr. and Annie Forbes Wright and was the wife of the late William R. "Reggie" Moss Sr. Mrs. Moss was a member of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church. She was a school teacher for thirty-nine years having taught at J.C. Sawyer Elementary School and was a charter member and past President of the Alpha Delta Kappa Gamma Iota Chapter.

Mrs. Moss is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Annette Moss of Nags Head; two sons, William R. Moss Jr. and wife, Candee, of Elizabeth City and Binns Wright Moss of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a brother, Howland Wright of St. Augustine, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jamie Annette Holton, William Reginald Moss III and Harry Christopher Moss; and her faithful feline companion, Felix. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Wright Sr., Willis S. Wright Jr. and Carlton Wright. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mrs. Moss' caregivers, Louise Mosher, Pat Sawyer, Seretha Clark, Sheila Worley and Kimi Cahoon for their kind and compassionate care. A funeral service will take place Monday, July 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Harrington officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening; immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home; and at all other times at the residence.
