Betty Jean Vautherot

Betty Jean Vautherot passed away in Santa Barbara CA on April 7, 2013 at the age of 91. She was a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes for 36 years before moving to Santa Barbara in 2007 to be near her daughter Cindy. She was born Betty Jean Wilkins and grew up in Campbellsburg, Indiana. At 18, she and her family moved to San Bernardino where she attended San Bernardino Valley College and UCLA. She married Bob (Harry Robert) Vautherot in 1949 and had one child. Bob was an Air Force officer and pilot and the family followed him to assignments in various locations before retiring in Rancho Palos Verdes. Betty was a homemaker and volunteered with the Officers' Wives Club. In retirement, she took up golf and embroidery, joining the local Azure Verde chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild. She is predeceased by her husband, Bob Vautherot, in 2008, her parents, Maude and Lee Wilkins, and her brother, Maurice Lee Wilkins. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Votro.
