Howard Clemens, longtime Torrance resident passed away on Sunday March 16, 2014. He was born in Columbia, Missouri on June 21, 1930 and moved to California at the age of 10. He later attended Hamilton High School in Culver City, joined the U.S.Army in 1953, where he served with the 1st Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas. Howard married Joan Dye on July 15, 1949. They made their home in Hawthorne, California, where they lived for 25 years and raised their son Mike. Howard moved his life to Torrance, California in 1976 after the death of his wife Joan. His life was full, always helping family and neighbors, building custom cars and watching NASCAR. Howard is survived by his son Mike, daughter-in-law Marla, and 3 grandchildren Brad, Andy and Jessica. Memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 12:00pm at Green Hills Memorial Park 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
