John Paul Kordich
John Paul Kordich was born on December 28, 1931 in San Pedro, Ca. and passed away with his daughters by his side on October 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Louise Kordich (Cordero) and beautiful daughter Dr. Kathleen Kordich-Boman. He is one of 12 siblings and is survived by his brother George Kordich and sister Simone Kotsmith. He is also survived by three daughters, Anna Sandoval (Kordich), Marie Kordich, Jennifer Kordich (Michael Reisner). He has nine grandchildren, Victor Herrera, Frances Boman, Lorenzo Kordich, Gregory Boman, Chloe Sandoval, Grace Culley, Louise Havstad, Luke Reisner, Cecelia Reisner and one great granddaughter Meira Herrera. John graduated from San Pedro High School in 1951, served in the U.S. Navy and was part of its traveling boxing and basketball teams. He retired after 34 years from Pacific Bell as a communication technician. He belonged to the Barton Hill Cougars and Elks Clubs. During retirement he enjoyed golf, poker, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed playing sports with and preparing fresh fruit platters for his grandchildren. A Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
