Mary Helen Gibson Obituary
Mary Helen Gibson

Passed away peacefully on November 10, 2013 just five days after her 65th birthday. She was born in 1948 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor where her dad, Jim Gibson, was a student. Growing up in Culver City, she joined with scores of other baby boomer girls in a very active Girl Scout event led by her mother, Dotty Gibson. A degree in Geography from U.C.L.A. proved of value to her many years in real estate in the Lake Tahoe area. Recently she earned her credentials in the ultrasound profession which she enjoyed and hoped to continue for many years. She is survived by her two sons, Dean and Anthony; grandchildren, Joshua and Allison, all in the Reno area; her brother, Lt. Col. James G. Gibson, Rtd. in Virginia; and her dad. A memorial service will take place at 10:00 AM on December 7th at Westwood United Methodist Church in Westwood, (310) 474-4511. In lieu of flowers a contribution to the Dorothy Gibson Scholarship at West Los Angeles Community College would be meaningful and much appreciated by the students who have benefited from it over the years.
