Richard David Hunter, aka Mouse

Richard David Hunter passed away from cancer on Tuesday, July 15th, in his home in Newhall, Ca. He was lovingly cared for by his Newhall "family", June Callaghan, Karl Allen and Verissa Leos, her daughter Bella and Roze Room Hospice. Richard was born on December 11th 1949. He attended 7th Street Elementary, Dana Jr. High and graduated from San Pedro High School. Shortly after graduation he joined the Army and served as an Infantryman with the 34th Armor Division in Vietnam. While serving, he earned a Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He received an honorable discharge after 2 years of service. Under the GI Bill, he went on to earn his Radio Operators License and spent the next 30 years working in the television and film industry. He is survived by his mother, Selma Hunter; his brother, Bruce Hunter; his sister, Sandra Hunter Gomez; his ex-wife and family friend, Elaine Ocasio and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Paul Hunter. He loved playing with his vast collection of remote control vehicles. He was a gentle soul, with a quick wit and a good heart.
