Richard "Rick" Kovacs
Richard "Rick" Kovacs born October 31, 1953 passed peacefully in his sleep the evening of January 17th. Raised in Palos Verdes, Rick's residence grew to encompass the greater Southwestern coast and desert skies, highways, trails and campgrounds. He spent much of his time dirt biking, motorcycle racing, and flying out of Torrance Airport. As owner of Kovacs Paper Company, started by his father in 1964, he spent 40 years designing and supplying custom packaging for the South Bay. Known by many as a big guy with big heart, Rick will be greatly missed by friends and family. He is survived by his mother, Merlene Moss; brothers, James Johnson, William and Gary Kovacs; and children, Kristin and Garrett Kovacs. Come celebrate a life lived at full throttle at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on Friday, January 31st at 3pm, followed by a reception at the San Pedro Elks Lodge.
