Barbara Traudt Obituary
Barbara Anne Traudt, 54, of Lincoln, Nebraska and formerly of Boulder, Colorado, passed away Aug. 5, 2014. Born July 10, 1960, to Helen and Verne O.M. Traudt, Barbara received her Ph.D. in Political Theory & International Politics from the Graduate School of International Studies, Denver University. She taught at Metro State College Denver, University of Northern Colorado, Southeast Community College, Doane College, and Nebraska Wesleyan, among others, and as a visiting professor at the University of Moscow in 1995. Barbara was passionate about Native American rights, women's studies, animals and Christmas. In 2003, she was instrumental in bringing Noam Chomsky as speaker to DU and Metro State and was both an organizer and participant for the 1984 Lifecycle: Bicyclists for a Nuclear Weapons Freeze event. Barbara was a freelance reporter for National Public Radio in the 80s, 90s and early 2000. Barbara is survived by her siblings, Larry & Cheryl Traudt, Jamie & Lori Traudt, and Marty & Alec Rolle, her beloved dog, Riley Rue, and a host of nephews, nieces and dear friends.
