Born in Chicago November 8, 1952 to Stella and Marvin Hittle Sr., Carl passed away October 29, 2013 in a motor vehicle accident. Carl grew up in California and Pennsylvania and spent his adult life in Colorado. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Brenda; 4 sons, Skylar, Zachary, Elijah, and Maxwell; two brothers, Lawrence and Marvin Jr.; and 4 cats and a dog. Carl enjoyed many avenues of employment including historic building restoration, land management in the oil and gas industry, and home repair but his most enjoyable job was being a stay at home dad. He was completely devoted to his children. Extracurricular activities included bowling, fishing, pitching horseshoes, walking his dogs, cooking, high school wrestling, dog racing, Texas Hold 'Em, an occasional trip to Central City with his sons, and scheming to play pranks. Carl is best remembered for his compassion, work ethic, and inane sense of humor that was meant to amuse and include all those he entertained. He is probably most intimately remembered as one of those pie-throwing, self humiliating, Horrible Hittle Boys by friends who knew and loved him well. Donations may be made to the Hittle Family Memorial Account at TCF Bank. A memorial service will be held at the Boulder Elks Lodge, 3975 28th Street, Saturday, November 16, at 2:00 pm.
