Leo Streeter Obituary
Leo Edward Streeter, age 94, died December 17th at Sunrise Boulder. Leo was born on September 8, 1918 in Duluth, Minnesota and grew up in Superior, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a BS in chemistry. After graduation he joined Dow Chemical Company where he was employed for 41 years at locations in Michigan, Washington, California, and Texas. While in California he assisted in building a facility for making artificial kidneys. His last assignment was as the Employee Relations Manager for Dow's Wanda Petroleum Division in Houston, Texas. After retirement he and his wife, Gloria moved to San Antonio in 1980. Their final move was to Boulder, Colorado in 2000. During World War II Streeter was a Lt. in the US Navy Amphibious Corps in the Pacific Theater. While living in Midland, Michigan he was active in the Boy Scouts, Midland County Safety Committee, the Optimist Club, the Elks Club, and the Unitarian Fellowship. He was a long time member in the American Chemical Society and the Society for Human Resources. Leo will be remembered for his tireless advocacy of diversity and fairness in the work place since the 1950s, his wry sense of humor, and his kindness towards all. Leo is survived by his daughters, Lynn Streeter of Boulder and Beth Mooney of Cleveland, Ohio, his granddaughter, Libby Landauer of Brooklyn, New York, his son-in-law, Tom Landauer of Boulder, the family's longtime companion, Marie Lamysere of Northglenn, and his brother, Robert Streeter of Elgin, South Carolina. The memorial service is at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 22 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Boulder.
