Merrill passed away Friday, June 28, 2013. He was born near Atwood, KS to Bethel and Ethel Beal, February 28, 1923. After graduating high school he joined the army and served in the South Pacific Campaign until he was wounded. September 29, 1946 Merrill married the girl next door and the love of his life for 66 years, Leona Marlowe. For a short time Merrill had a shoe repair shop in Atwood and they moved to Boulder, CO. He set up his shoe repair business first on the Hill then at the Crossroads, retiring in the early eighties. He is survived by his lovely wife, Leona; two children, Dwight and René; and three grandchildren. Services will be held at First Presbyterian, Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Presbyterian would be greatly appreciated.
