Peter David Pomeroy, 65, passed away on June 11, 2013, at his home in Boulder, Colorado, following a brief illness. Mr. Pomeroy was born in Buffalo, New York in 1948, the fourth child of Robert and Jennie Pomeroy. He graduated from Williamsville High School in 1966, after which he attended the State University of New York at Buffalo. Peter served for four years with the Air Force that included a tour in the Pacific as a Russian Language translator. Following his discharge from the Air Force he enrolled at Arizona State University where he earned an MBA in Quantitative Systems. Peter had a varied work career that included General Dynamics, A.H. Belo, and Cutler/Williams, in Dallas/Ft. Worth, and concluded with IBM Global Services and Natural Grocers in Boulder, Colorado. Peter was very active in his church, St. Luke Orthodox Christian Church in Erie, Colorado. He studied Ikebana in the Boulder Shambhala Center where he contributed his skill, dedication and artistry over the course of many years. He was tremendously valued as an person, artist, and fellow teacher. Peter D. Pomeroy is survived by his mother, Jennie B. Pomeroy, and his brothers, Robert G. Pomeroy and his wife Charlotte of Arlington, Virginia; and John S. Pomeroy of St. Albans, Vermont. He was predeceased by his father, Robert I. Pomeroy, and his sister, Elizabeth B. Altemoos. Final Arrangements by the Erlinger Funeral Home in Lafayette, Colorado. A Remembrance Event is being held at the Boulder Shambhala Center at 5 p.m., Wednesday, 26 June. Contributions in lieu of flowers and other memorials in Peter's memory will be gratefully accepted by St. Luke Orthodox Christian Church in Erie, Colorado, and the Boulder Shambhala Center. A Memorial Service for relatives and close friends will be held in Central Square, New York at a time and date to be determined. Final Interment will be at HillsideCemetery, Central Square, NY.
