Feb. 25, 1942 June 14, 2014

David John Zwinge passed away on June 14, after a short illness from pancreatic/liver cancer and Acute Renal Failure. He was born in Sacramento, on Feb. 25, 1942 to Maurice and Margueritte Zwinge. He graduated from Calaveras High School and had a BS in Criminal Justice from CSUS. He retired in August 2001 after 28 years from the Yolo County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff.

He participated in many organizations such as the Boy's Scouts of America, Special Olympics of Yolo County, Reveille Lion's Club, Sacramento Lodge No. 40 of Free and Accepted Masons of California and Harmony Chapter #385 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl A. Zwinge and son, David John (DJ) Zwinge. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Renee Dianne Zwinge.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 1 p.m., on June 24, at the Reveille Lion's Clubhouse, 417 Lincoln Ave., Woodland. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
