Charles H. Vedder Jr. ScotiaCharles H. Vedder Jr., 87, entered into eternal life Saturday, October 26, 2013, after a short illness. Born in Jersey City, NJ on November 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Julia Stewart Vedder Sr. Charles was a WWII US Navy veteran. He was employed as a broadcasting technician with G.E. for 39 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Scotia, the Annie Schaffer Senior Citizens Center, and the Glenville Senior Citizens Center. Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Carmella F. Catello Vedder; loving father of Sharon Trumpler (Joseph) of Scotia, Ladon Roylance (Douglas) of Scotia, Michael Vedder (Patricia) of Scotia, Charlie (Sue) Vedder III of Scotia and the late Toni Ann Gardner; brother of the late Daisey Dora Casler; cherished grandfather of Joseph Trumpler (Jonai), Jamie Bocketti (Scott), Jesse Roylance (Danielle), Jennifer Burkart (Jim), Amber Stasiak (Peter), Michael D. Vedder, Charles Vedder IV and Amanda Vedder; great-grandfather of Emma and Gavin Roylance, James and Joshua Burkart, Emily Fredericks, Joslyn and Jaiden Trumpler, Michael Anthony Stasiak and Jordan and Noah Bocketti. Charles is also survived by his son-in-law, Jack Gardner; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Park Cemetery, Sacandaga Rd., Scotia. In lieu of flowers donations in Charles' memory may be made to the , 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110. The family would like to give special thanks to Laurie Allen and Rose Schellenger for their kind attention and care to Charles and his family and especially to his son Michael for going above and beyond for his dad.
