Jill Vanselow ScotiaJill Vanselow, 55, of Scotia, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 suddenly at her home. Born March 12, 1959 in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late John C. Vanselow Jr. and Nancy (Drake) Vanselow. She lived briefly in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, but was almost a lifelong resident of Scotia. She was a longtime employee of Jumpin Jack's in Scotia. She graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in Maine and attended Purdue University. Jill (or Jilly Bean, as her friends called her) was a gentle soul who brought joy to those that knew her well. She was an animal lover, and will be greatly missed by her family, her Jumpin Jack's co-workers and her friends at San Souci's Restaurant. She is survived by her sister, Lynn Kehn and brother-in-law, Ronald Kehn; brother, John (JD) Vanselow and sister-in-law, Terry of Taylors, South Caroline; one niece, Jennifer and five nephews, Matthew, Jay, Russell, Matthew and John. Viewing hours Monday, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Bekkering Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia with a service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Park Cemetery, Scotia, NY. Contributions may be made to or Schenectady County Animal Shelter.
