Joseph Nicholas Florio Sr. Mt. Dora, FLJoseph Nicholas Florio Sr., 69, passed away on June 19, 2013. His loving wife of 46 years and his family were by his side. Joe was born on May 31, 1944 in Schenectady, NY. He attended area Catholic schools as well as Linton High School from which he graduated in 1963. He joined the Army and served in Vietnam. He earned many honors. In 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Ann Zukauskas. They went on to have three wonderful children. Joe, his wife and family resided in many places due to his line of work as management in retail department stores. In the 1980s, he opened and owned a chain of marine supply stores in S. Florida and the Florida Keys. He was an avid fisherman and also loved boating and diving. Another passion of his was his motorcycle. He and his wife rode with a veteran's group for many years for pleasure and charity work. Always a hard worker and tired of working indoors, he decided he would like to work outdoors. He started a lawn maintenance company in which he and his wife worked side by side for 12 years. In 2007 they moved to Mt. Dora, FL to retire. Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a giving, outgoing and wonderful personality. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister. He is survived by his wife, his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters and many nieces and nephews.
