Michael C. Faraone Jr. Schenectady Michael C. Faraone, Jr., 68, of Van Velsen Street, entered into his eternal rest Thursday evening after being stricken at his home. Mike was born in Schenectady, on June 22, 1945, son of the late Michael and Ermalinda Viscosi Faraone. He graduated from Linton High School, class of 1963. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. For 31 years, Mike faithfully served the people of the city of Schenectady as a professional fire fighter with the Schenectady Fire Department. After retirement, Mike was an avid golfer; playing in the VanVranken Golf League and the Falvo Insurance League. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge. Survivors include his beloved wife, Sharon L. McCown Faraone, whom he married August 14, 1995; loving father of Anthony and his wife, Kamilah Faraone of Sunrise, FL, Richard and his wife, Nicole Faraone of Glenville and Anita and her husband, Tony Winborn of Boca Raton, FL; proud grandfather of Anthony Faraone, Jr.; devoted brother of Phyllis and her husband, Joseph DeVito of Port St Lucie, FL; devoted uncle of Lisa and her husband, Dominick Lombardo, Michelle and her husband, Michael Collins and Christopher and his wife, Mayra DeVito; also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gerald BH Solomon Cemetery, Schuylerville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. Active and retired members of the Schenectady Fire Department are kindly requested to meet at the funeral home at 7 p.m. for a service.
