R. Wayne Jennings RexfordR. Wayne Jennings, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Born in Marshalltown, IA on February 4, 1925, he was the son of the late John F. and L. Faye (Haines) Jennings. Wayne was raised in Olathe, KS where the family moved when he was a small child. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Harriett A. (Williams) Jennings; son, Dennis L. Jennings; brother, Clifford H. Jennings; and sisters, Charlotte J. Jennings and Bonnie D. (Jennings) Benoit. Wayne retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1968 after 22 years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He also retired from the NYS Teachers Retirement System in 1980 with ten years of service. He loved genealogy and traveled extensively in the United States and Europe researching his family's history. Wayne also worked and volunteered at the National Archives in Kansas City, MO. He was a member of Beukendaal Lodge #915 joining in 1968 and of the Lutheran faith. Mr. Jennings is survived by his daughters, Margaret L. (Jennings) Fisher (George) of Scotia and Lori A. Jennings of Clifton Park; his grandchildren, John A. (AJ) Fisher of Norfolk, VA and Abigail S. Fisher of Scotia; his sister, Joan A. (Jennings) Darnell (Richard) of Nixa, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will take place on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Committal services will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY. The family is thankful for the care and kindness of Dr. John Nolan and the nurses on A4 and ICU E-1 at Ellis Hospital.
