Dr. Richard A. Neuber Port St. Lucie, FLRichard Augustave Neuber of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Schenectady, NY, died peacefully on June 28, 2013 at Palm Garden of Port St. Lucie. Dr. Neuber was the devoted husband of Marilyn Burns Neuber for the past 12 years. He was predeceased by Jean Stewart Neuber, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Dr. Neuber practiced family dentistry in Schenectady for 38 years. He will be remembered as a gentle dentist, avid golfer, skier and curler, devoted family man, and loyal friend. His favorite times were spent having cocktails with friends and family overlooking the waters of Lake George and Galway Lake. Born and raised in Schenectady, Dick was the son of Dr. Augustave Neuber and Bertha Lee. He missed his graduation ceremony from Nott Terrace High School in 1945 to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1950, where he was a member of the golf team, and from New York University College of Dentistry in 1954. He was on the dental staff at Ellis Hospital and was a member of the Schenectady Dental Study Club and the New York State Dental Association. Dick was a member of the Mohawk Golf Club for over 60 years where he served two terms on the Board of Governors and was Club Champion in 1961 and 1974. He was also a member of Savanna Club of Port St. Lucie where he was a two time club champion. He was a longtime member of the Schenectady Curling Club where he was president and competed on two New York State Teams at the U.S. Men's Curling Championships. He also served as president of the Grand National Curling Club of America from 1974 to 1976. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Julie (Kirk) Bishop of Wenham, MA, Stewart (Diane) of Clifton Park, NY, Sally (David) Kelly of Queensbury, NY, and Christopher of Las Vegas, NV; and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney and Alexandra Neuber, Drew, Kyle and Dale Bishop, Sean and Troy Kelly. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Lauren (Randy) Harner of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl and Keith Burns (Michelle Todaro) of Scottsdale, AZ; and stepgrandchildren, Brian, Nicole, Gillian and Lance Harner and Seger Burns; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Neuber Goggins. His children would like to thank their Dad for teaching them a few life lessons; don't cross your ski tips, a day on the lake will remind you that life is beautiful, and never be late for the dentist. The family would also like to thank the staff at Palm Garden and Treasure Coast Hospice for their dedication and compassionate care. Services will be private. A celebration of Dick's life will be held at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Ft.
