Robert H. MacMartin QueensburyRobert H. MacMartin, 80, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital. He was born on April 11, 1932, in Shushan, NY, the son of the late Frederick H. and Florence (Holmberg) MacMartin. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a sergeant in the Korean War. Robert was a dedicated employee at Niagara Mohawk working in Schenectady, Warrensburg, Saratoga, and Glens Falls for 43 years as a service supervisor and was a member of the 25 year club. He was a member of St. George's Masonic Lodge and Sigma Bodies Valley in Schenectady. He was also an active member of Oriental Shrine, where he had served as potentate and chairman of the hospital fund. In addition, he was a member of area Shrine Clubs in Glens Falls, Schenectady and Saratoga: the Royal Order of Jesters, where he was past director and Impresario; the BPOE # 81 Glens Falls Elks Lodge and the Queensbury United Methodist Church. Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed spending time at his camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake, and enjoyed numerous hours gardening. He was a dedicated man, of good samaritan qualities and was always willing to help others. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by two brothers, James MacMartin and Thomas MacMartin. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Joan Young MacMartin of Queensbury; daughters, Anne Labourr and husband, John of Queensbury; Faye Clauson and husband, Walt of Middletown, RI, Gail Caron and husband, William of Queensbury; Lois Locurcio and husband, Mark of Phoenix, NY; six grandchildren, Christine Feerick and husband, William, Julie Labourr, Walter Clauson, Amanda Clauson , Samuel Caron, and Elisabeth Caron; two great-grandchildren, Kailyn Feerick and Jason Feerick; and his brother, Frederick MacMartin and wife, Sandra of Schenectady. A private burial with full military honors will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012, with a Masonic service taking place at 4:30 p.m., at Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
