Robert J. Rafferty Clifton Park Robert J. Rafferty, 85, of Woodhall Lane, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary Condon Rafferty. He was a 1946 graduate of Catholic Central High School. Bob was employed for 15 years at Niagara Mohawk in Glenmont and retired in 1992. Prior to that, he served for 23 years with the NewYork State Police. He was a member of the New York State PBA and C.S.E.A. A veteran of the US Marine Corps, Bob was a member of the VFW Post 729in Watervliet and the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450 in Halfmoon. He also was a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks and theBrotherhood of Electrical Workers. He is survived by his loving wife, Thilde Meister Rafferty; and his devoted children, Christine P. Szabo (Robert) of Brunswick, OH, Joseph Rafferty (Kara) of Gansevoort, and Kim Sheils (Declan) of Astoria. He was the brother of Edward J. Rafferty of Elk Grove, CA; and the proudgrandfather of Sarah, Macey, Liam and Aidan Wissinger, Isabella SophiaGoitia, Molly Elizabeth and Nicholas Rafferty; and great-grandfather of Hunter Hardwick. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment willbe in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to St. Mary of the AssumptionChurch Restoration Fund in care of the funeral home office.
