Robert Kille Roswell, NMRobert W. Kille, age 82, passed away on January 9, 2013 at the University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX after a short illness. The eldest son of Samuel and Elliot Kille, Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Charles Elliot Kille. Bob married his college sweetheart, Carolyn (Pam) Ramsey on August 16, 1953. Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years; a son, Charles (Betsy) Kille of Churubusco, IN; a daughter, Katie (Jeff) Syron of Schenectady, NY; two grandchildren, David and Martha Kille; and his beloved dog, Paddy. Bob served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War before returning to complete his degree in electrical engineering. He then entered the General Electric Advanced Engineering Program in the mid 1950s, after which he worked on many cutting edge projects while in Syracuse, Utica, and as a senior member of the GE Corporate Engineering Consulting Staff in Schenectady. Bob served as the technical director in Bangor, ME, leading the efforts to install and bring to operational readiness, the Over the Horizon Backscatter Long Range Surveillance Radar System during the late 80s. Bob was a long time resident of Glenville before moving to Roswell, NM following his retirement in the early 1990s, after more than 30 years with GE. Bob enjoyed gardening, craftsmanship, stamp collecting and genealogy which lead him to travel extensively in England and Scotland for research and to volunteer for many years at the Roswell Family History Center. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family in Roswell, NM.
