Ruth Lillian Jefts MechanicvilleRuth Lillian (nee: Collett) Jefts, 88, of Me- chanicville, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, February 15, 2013. Born in Sche- nectady on March 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ormond and Alice Amelia (nee: Hul- burt) Collett. She was raised and educated in Schenectady and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She was a mem- ber of Union Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. During WWII, Ruth proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. She was employed for many years by the State Uni- versity of Albany until her re- tirement. Ruth is remembered as a kind and thoughtful person and was distinguished by her selflessness. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Hanna and Grace Coutant and two brothers, Frank and Jack Collett. She is survived by her loving family that include two sons, Philip Jefts of Colonie, and Donald Jefts of Scotia; three grandchildren, Lucas (Jessica) Jefts, Kara Jefts and Amanda Jefts; two great-grandchildren, Cora and Rylan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
