1926 - 2014 Obituary Condolences Flowers
GRAYSLAKE - Charles B. Thompson, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born June 13, 1926 to Charles B. II and Helen (Roberts) Thompson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific and in the Korean War and as a chief petty officer in the Reserve until 1968. Charles worked for Illinois Bell Telephone from 1947 until 1989. He also was the former Chief Range Officer and member of the Board of Directors of the Conservation Club of Kenosha County since 1968. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna; his sons, Edward and Richard; his two grandchildren, Robert and Elizabeth; and his daughter-in-law, Joan. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Florence Barnett Thompson, and his brother, Robert W. Friends of the family may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the United Protestant Church, 54 S. Whitney St., Grayslake. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Journey Care, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, Il 60010.
